The
United Nations Committee of New Canaan believes our country and the world
are best served by a vital and credible United Nations, led and supported by
the U.S. The
Committee undertakes to broaden the community's awareness of policy issues
affecting both the U.S and the UN, and to highlight the various peacekeeping
and humanitarian activities of the UN.
The
Committee also offers, from time to time, direct support to particularly
deserving international humanitarian causes.
Annually
on October 24th, the UN Committee, in conjunction with our Town, commemorates the founding of the United Nations by proclamation and the raising of the
UN flag.
