Shown in photo (l. to r.) are Gina Dearth, Justin Campbell, and Hannah Stapleton of the NCHS Model Un Club, making a sale to fellow student Nick Valauri, for the benefit of AID AFGHANISTAN. According to Ms. Stapleton, proceeds of $200. from two bake sales this fall have been donated to the UN Committee of New Canaan, for direct support of two girls' schools in northeastern Afghanistan. According to Susan E. Blabey, head of the over-all fund-raising effort, the UN Committee this month will kick-off its final effort to reach $100,000 committed two years ago to organize and maintain the girls' schools. The schools were established last March, and $30,000 is needed to complete the project, reported Ms. Blabey.
